exciting stuff, my friends! this past weekend, i went to my first movie premiere, where Nick and I got to see All American Christmas Carol!

(affiliate link) was co-written by Terri Kauffman, whom i've been lucky enough to call a friend for twenty-some odd years now. i had read the original screen-play years ago, so it was beyond cool to see it made into a movie on the big screen and you'll have to excuse me if i'm a little star-struck!
the movie is a modern take on a christmas carol, featuring Taryn Manning as a self-centered, unemployed mother of three who is about to lose her children and her family until she is given a second chance by the three unlikely ghosts on christmas eve. it's an update with a trashy twist, and with cast members like Wendy McLendon-Covey, Beverly D'Angelo, and Meatloaf, this movie can't help but be funny and irreverent along the way.

the premier took place at the Zoetropolis Art House in Lancaster, PA, a great venue for art films and more, like event hosting, yoga, and wine nights, complete with an eclectic mix of old movie theatre seats and second-hand couches.
i designed these flyers for local distribution before the premiere using sidewalk chalk elements from Prettiful Designs, a digital paper and clip art shop on etsy.

i thought the movie was fabulous, and i'm happy to say that we'll be watching it again soon and you can too because today is the official movie release day!! you can buy it on itunes, buy the DVD on amazon (affiliate link), and watch on demand through most cable network providers. seriously, watch it!
