a week or so ago, i got an email from Eric of Aquaponics Filter about the ecoQube, and would i want to share about their Kickstarter project? and after learning about their project and what they hope to be able to do long-term, i was pretty fascinated and decided that i definitely need to share this!

from the designers... the ecoQube is "a desktop ecosystem that uses plants like mint, basil, and even flowers to filter water for fish." and it also comes with "a K-12 curriculum we put together with a local non profit about the science behind self sustaining ecosystems."

Kahlin has officially fallen in love with science this year, and she is especially interested in all things plant and nature related, so i'm really looking forward to watching her learn about the ecoQube. the fact that there is a learning component that comes along with with the physical aquarium makes it perfect for kids. and it doesn't hurt that it's pretty ;)

check out the ecoQube Kickstarter project to see the early prototypes of the ecoQube and read about how this technology could potentially give access to clean water to so many people who need it. it's pretty amazing to think about how technology to make a self-sustaining aquarium could also save lives.
